About me
Systems and Computing Engineer focused on building useful, scalable, and maintainable software.
I'm Juan Alejandro Pérez Bermúdez (Barto), born in Manizales and resident in Dosquebradas since 2009. I graduated from the Systems and Computing Engineering program at the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira in 2025. I develop mobile applications with Flutter, backends with Firebase and Supabase, and web applications with Next.js and TypeScript, combining good engineering practices, software quality, and user experience focus. I'm especially interested in automation, software testing, CI/CD, and building sustainable long-term solutions. I've also worked integrating Unity WebGL projects with React applications and developing scalable APIs with FastAPI. Beyond development, I actively participate in the local tech community supporting event organization since 2023 and promoting collaborative learning spaces. I was part of the SONAR I.S.C. research group, strengthening my interest in academic research and software quality. My greatest community achievement has been founding QAConf, the region's first software quality-specialized event, an initiative focused on connecting students, professionals, and companies around software quality culture and continuous improvement.
Timeline
Throughout my career I have contributed to commercial, academic, and community projects, taking on responsibilities that range from development and testing to deployment, continuous improvement, and team support. Each stage has helped me build a broader view of the software lifecycle and contribute more effectively to products, technical quality, and tech community growth.
