Who's Barto?

Juan Alejandro Pérez Bermúdez

An engineer from Dosquebradas: I write software someone else can pick up, and I host rooms where people learn out loud.

Friends call me Barto. I was born in Manizales, have lived in Dosquebradas since 2009, and finished Systems and Computing Engineering at UTP in 2025. Campus left me a better habit than a diploma: asking whether what we ship survives real use, not just the demo.

Day to day I move between Flutter apps, Firebase or FastAPI backends, and TypeScript fronts. I would rather leave tests, pipelines, and decisions that do not depend on me being in the chat than collect frameworks. If a deploy or an API can be understood without guessing, the work is done.

Since 2023 I have been pushing the tech calendar in Colombia's Coffee Axis: logistics, speakers, and the conversation after the talk. Founding QAConf — the region's first gathering built around software quality — is the part of the job that does not fit in a repository.
